| Introduction to Women's Dances of the Orient -- with Helene Eriksen!
a
fantastic opportunity to study several styles of Eastern dance in
depth, with master teacher, choreographer, and dance ethnologist, Helene Eriksen
Introductory Weekend for ANAR DANA SF Bay Area Project #5
During
the Introductory weekend, Helene will give an overview of a wide range
of Women's Dances of the Orient -- an incredible journey across three
continents: from North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Iran, Central Asia, and Northern India!
Helene will show videos, teach the flavor of dances from many regions,
and discuss the styles. At the end of the weekend, attendees will
pick seven styles as to be the repertoire for the third ANAR DANA SF
Bay Area Project. You can become acquainted with Helene's offerings
during the introductory weekend -- with no further obligation -- before
deciding whether to join the Project.
The Introductory Weekend can be taken independently from the Project and
provides a wonderfully informative survey course on Women's Dances of
the Orient in itself. Attending the Introductory Weekend does not
imply any obligation to join the full Project.
